London, My Second Home

London has been my second home since March 2012. I decided to move to London because of a vacation I had with my parents in October 2011 in London which made me completely fall in love with the city. It was also a decision I made in order to find a job in London seeing as I wasn’t having much luck back in Italy; and we all know that London is the city of opportunities! So after I came back home I started to do a lot of research about London; how to find a job, how to find a place to live, etc. I booked the flight at the end of January 2012. It was for the 28th of March, two days before my birthday. Yes, it sounds strange to leave your country two days before your birthday, but it was more important to me to start this journey than to celebrate my birthday. When I arrived in London, I went to the hostel that I booked for one week and the day after I starting searching through for a place to live. I found a double room with one bed available so I texted the landlord and asked if I could check it out. He answered me after one hour saying yes. So I took the underground to get there, because the place was on the other side of the city. It was not easy finding the place because I was new in town and didn’t know the area, so of course I got lost, as expected, but eventually found it. Everything went well, I decided to take it and I have been living there ever since.

London holds a special place in my heart, I have been living here for 3 years and a half now and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
